Exercise is an extremely important addition to any health or weight loss program. Exercise burns calories, strengthens the muscles of the body, and in so doing increases the body’s metabolic rate (metabolism) which will burn fat and allow you to lose weight much quicker. All of which makes the overall weight loss process much more effective.
When it comes to exercise equipment it is important to know that one machine or apparatus is not necessarily better than the next. For example, it does not matter whether a person uses free weights, cables, machines, or body weight while exercising (unless of course one has a specific goal in mind) as long as all of the muscles of the body are worked, either individually or many at one time. In actuality, any piece of fitness equipment that allows you to do what you want to do is a good piece of equipment. The newest model is not necessarily better than the one you bought ten years ago, looks can be deceiving.
However, exercise in and of itself is only an “addition” to any general health or weight loss program. Exercise is honestly not the most important factor in a weight loss program because you cannot lose weight if your diet is not assisting the weight loss process. In other words, it is possible to lose weight and get in great shape while eating properly without exercising but it is not possible to lose weight and get in great shape while eating poorly even if you doubled the amount of exercise time. Calorie wise it is not mathematically possible.
For an overall strong and healthy body it is important to exercise regularly, and using exercise equipment that works the entire body is one of the best ways to accomplish this task of great health. Exercise combined with a weight loss program targeted towards removing the fat tissue from the body is a most effective combination to achieving superior health. So remember, when you see tht $1,000 piece of exercise equipment advertised on television that looks like it will double the amount of weight loss for you, think again and simply use the equipment at your local gym or health club for a few bucks per month.
